Anzac Day: A Legacy We Inherit, A Duty We Share

Every year on the 25th of April, we gather in silence.

From city streets to country towns, and schoolyards to front lawns, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served – both past and present.

But Anzac Day isn’t just a history lesson. It’s a mirror.

It reflects who we’ve been as a nation and who we choose to be now.

Because the spirit of the ANZACs didn’t stay on the shores of Gallipoli. It’s carried today by every person who signs up to serve. By those who put country before comfort. And by the families who stand quietly behind them.

It’s found in mateship. In selflessness. In resilience under pressure.

And it lives on; not just in the medals, but in the moments no one sees.

Some stories never make the headlines.

Some battles aren’t fought overseas.

But in the silence after the service ends.

Cor Infinitus was created to honour veterans and service personnel who gave everything and despite their best efforts were overwhelmed by their battle within. Their service should never be forgotten.

In doing this, it also provides their families dignity and respect. Their loss is profound and no less tragic than any other.

That’s why Cor Infinitus exists: to make sure no one is left behind in memory. To offer a tangible place of remembrance and healing for families, for communities, for all of us.

Because remembrance isn’t just for the fallen on the battlefield. It’s also for those we lose when the battle comes home.

Supporting veterans, current Defence personnel and their families isn’t charity, it’s a responsibility. It’s about walking alongside those who’ve borne the burden of our national security and making sure they never walk alone.

So, this ANZAC Day, don’t just remember.

Reconnect.

Reach out.

Remind those still serving and those still struggling, that we see them, we value them, and we’re committed to standing with them.

The legacy of the ANZACs lives on in what we do next.

Lest We Forget—and let that be a promise, not just a phrase.
